unnamed-1-1Your Fall Fun Guide is presented by Upper Merion Township. Everyone is invited to the Upper Merion Community Fair and Fall Fest scheduled for Saturday October 1st from 10am to 2pm. This event will be fun for the whole family! Enjoy food trucks, live music, pony rides, wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, pick your own pumpkin and decorating station, straw bale photo corral and face painting, crafters, jewelry, balloon clowns Judy Tudy and Figaro, Meet Ronald McDonald, build your own scarecrow station(bring some old clothes and pillowcase!). There will be an Apple Dessert Contest, Raffles, Giveaways, Games and Fall Fun for Kids, bouncy rides, bake sales, and more. Meet service groups and nonprofits, sports teams, clubs, faith communities and local businesses that make up this great community!

Look up to the heavens then join the Bucks-Mont Amateur Astronomers for an evening of star-gazing on Thur. Sept. 1 between 7:30 -8:30 pm at Green Lane Park. Club members will have telescopes available for your use and can answer questions about what can be seen in late summer’s night sky. Meet in Red Trail Parking lot on Knight Road. The event is free. Creepy Crawlies

Take an excursion underground.  We will be looking under leaves and rocks on the forest floor and exploring soil as well as rotting logs to see what lives there.  Hear a story and make an earthy craft.  Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.  Meet at the pavilions.  Ages: 3 and up with an adult.  Pre-registration is required.

Vereinigung Erzgebirge – Bucks-Mont Oktoberfest

Celebrate Oktoberfest a little early this year on Saturday, September 10, from 11 am to 10 pm by visiting the Vereinigung Erzgebirge, a social and sports club in Warminster. Founded by German immigrants in 1931, the club has been hosting the annual celebration for 79 years. The day begins with an official keg tapping ceremony and plenty of food and beer will be available. Fun for the kids includes a moon bounce, face painting, soccer games and crafts. Musical performances by Willi Aust, The Philadelphia German Brass Band and other groups will take place throughout the day. Admission is $5.00 per person in advance or $7.00 at the door. 2016 Montgomery County History Fair

“Necessities” The Trades of Early America – Early American tradesmen learned their craft as apprentices to master craftsmen who brought their expertise with them to America from the Old World. This year’s Fair is a look at life before Walmart when we took pride in making items by hand with skilled artistry. We’d also like you to experience another precursor to our modern day hotels, post offices, restaurants and transportation centers all rolled into one place called a Tavern or Publick House. Along with this look at an earlier time, we invite you to learn about the past of this amazing county in Pennsylvania, whose rich history abounds from the outskirts of Philadelphia to the up-country regions around Green Lane, from the local historical societies, churches and organizations who each proudly keep a portion of the story of Montgomery County

Craft Marketplace at Pennypacker Mills

This year the Craft Marketplace is being held in conjunction with the Perkiomen Valley Art Center’s Art Show and sale.  The artists will be exhibiting and selling 2-D artwork in the Classroom Building.  The Craft Marketplace is expecting 60+ carefully selected, skilled craftsmen who will be happy to fulfill your every need for the perfect holiday gift for your family, friends, or just yourself!  Our 100% handcrafted items include scrollsaw art and ornaments with an ongoing demonstration, woolen wares made of angora, alpaca and llamas (and the bunnies will be there too!), nature photographs, digital art, stained glass, sterling and gemstone jewelry, beaded jewelry, metal sculpture and jewelry, loads of baby items, and so much more from fabric crafts to jams and jellies and soaps we have it all!  All of this in one gorgeous location and in prices to please every pocketbook.  After shopping you can visit our food vendor and get dessert at the KONA ICE booth, visit the FRIENDS’ 50/50 raffle and FRIEND-made craft table, and tour the beautiful turn-of-the-20th-Century mansion.  All proceeds benefit Pennypacker Mills.

Central Schwenkfelder Country Fair

Where: Central Schwenkfelder Church Fair, Entrance to the fairgrounds will be off of Valley Forge Road.
An old-fashioned Country Fair with activities for the whole family will be held at Central. An annual event since 1951, the Fair is held on historic farm property which is adjacent to the church; located on Valley Forge Road (Rt. 363), just north of Skippack Pike (Rt.73).   The Country Fair attracts more than 1,000 visitors each year and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to benefit charities, both local and worldwide.

Native American Day

Narberth Oktoberfest

This is the sixth year it will be held outdoor under lighted festival tents, but this is first year the event will be on the streets in downtown Narberth. The $45 advance ticket price includes local beers, live music, and festival food, including a pig roast, turkey, pretzels, brats & sauerkraut, dessert, and more. The first 500 guests who buy tickets in will have a free souvenir mug waiting for them at the door. Proceeds benefit the Narberth Volunteer Fire Department and the Narberth Dickens Festival. Join Union Cemetery of Whitemarsh at Saint Miriam for a classic All Hallow’s Eve flashlight tour that includes an exciting tour of our century grounds and a walk through the pumpkin patch. Experience the enchanting art and landscape of our cemetery grounds after dark, as an experienced tour guide leads you along winding, dimly-lit pathways and behind the graves of historic figures that include: Harvey Longabaugh, the brother of the Sundance Kid; Thomas May Peirce, founder of Peirce College; the Van Billiard Family who perished on the Titanic;  and George Jago, a Civil War soldier as well as many  other Civil and Revolutionary War veterans.  The nighttime walking tours will focus on the cemetery’s rich history, and of course, some of the liveliest spirits buried within our hallowed grounds, after all, Union Cemetery is on the Haunted Places in Pennsylvania list! Tours will last approximately 30-45 minutes, and will be followed by seasonal refreshments aside blazing fire pits near our pumpkin patch.

Witches of Narberth

Before the Halloween Parade and trick-or-treating get started, there’s a free family event that’s become a Main Line kid favorite – The Witches of Narberth!  Halloween kicks off with this popular annual scavenger hunt. Children of all ages are invited to join in this free event, where kids search downtown Narberth high and low for thirteen of the witchiest witches around. They collect treats along the way, and then return to the start to collect a Halloween prize. Costumes are optional, and we’ll give you a bag for treats.   The hunt goes until 4 pm or until prizes are gone.

Turn Your Clutter into Ca$h at Collegeville’s Colossal Yard Sale

Individuals who would like to sell at the yard sale, which attracts over 3,000 shoppers, can register at www.collegevilledevelopment.org.  A 10-foot space costs $25.  You must supply your own tables and chairs.  In the event of rain, the Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17th. Proceeds from the Yard Sale benefit the non-profit Collegeville Economic Development Corp. Fall Sidewalk Festival
When: September 15-18
Where: Artists Alley is right next door on Forrest Ave from Noon to 6pm.
The Narberth Fall Sidewalk Festival, is a three-day Sidewalk Sale weekend that closes with the Sunday “Welcome Back” Fall Music & Arts Fest.  The Music Fest is a family event on Haverford Avenue featuring street food, drinks, and free live music all day.

Jenkintown Festival of the Arts 
When: September 18th from 1PM to 6PM
Where: Town Square, Jenkintown

Food Truck Festival
When: October 1st, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Where: Downtown Phoenixville
What: 30+ Food Trucks will grace the streets with globally influenced eats, giving you the opportunity to enjoy city-style eating in the suburbs. Both city- and local-based trucks and vendors participate in this unique event.

Scarecrow Making
When: October 16, 2016 @ 2:00 pm
Where: Norristown Farm Park 2500 Upper Farm Rd Norristown, PA 19403
Come to the park to make your fall scarecrow. We are having a contest to see who can make the scariest, the most original, and the best overall scarecrow. Bring the clothes you want to use, something to make a head with, and a hat for your creation. We will supply the straw. Meet at the park office. Ages: adults & children 5 & up; fee: $5 per scarecrow; preregistration required.
