The holidays are fast approaching and the kids will soon be home for winter break. A visit to this annual holiday event is a treat for young and old alike. The display features entries from area contestants ages kids through adult. Categories include traditional, kids, student, 3D creations and reproductions of a significant building. The display is showing through Jan. 2. Peddler’s Village also features shopping, restaurants and a place for the kids to play at Giggleberry Fair, including taking a ride on the historic carousel. Crayola Experience – Interactive Creativity

Inspire your little ones to create with a visit to the Crayola Experience, an interactive play place for kids and adults alike. Become the star in your own coloring page, melt and play with melted crayons (it’s ok!) learn how crayons are made and jump around in the interactive dark room. Longwood Gardens – A Longwood Christmas

Explore the beauty of the holiday with the magnificent botanical displays at Longwood Gardens. The annual showcase features 6,000 seasonal plants, lights, fountains, strolling carolers and festive adornments. Displays are both indoors and outside. Night time is especially spectacular as the walkway trees are illuminated and the Open Air Theater fountain displays a colorful and musical show every five-minutes. The gardens are open daily from 9 am to 10 pm and the Christmas spectacular is showing through Jan. 8. Tickets are timed for entry and can be purchased in advance online.
