A blizzard is about to hit our region, leaving most of us looking for fun ways to stay warm while avoiding cabin fever. One of the best ways to do that is by taking advantage of the great sledding hills of Montgomery County. Bundle up, grab your sled, some WD40 if necessary, and get ready to fly down some of the best hills our area has to offer. Below are 6 of our favorite hills to sled down in and around Montco:
1.) Fort Washington State Park
Fort Washington State Park is hands down one of the best places to get your “sled on” in Montgomery County. The park contains several different hills to choose from which make sit a great winter destination for all ages. The Militia Hill Day Use Area provides the steepest slope, as well as ample parking and bathrooms.

4.) Valley Forge Park
One of the favorite places in central Montgomery County for sledding is Valley Forge Park. This historically awesome sledding area offers long, steep hills for extended rides. It is the perfect place for to go if you’re an experienced sledder looking for big hills, but it’s a great place to visit with the kids too!

5.) Odorisio Park & The Willows Park
Ordorisio Park in Villanova has some nearby hills that make for great sledding with the family. The baseball field within the park is surrounded by 3 hills that create a “bowl” shape in the landscape, making it a fun ride for you and the kids! The other, much larger hill is located within The Willows Township Park nearby. It’s a long way down and an even longer walk back up so make sure you bring your sled legs!
Odorisio Park is a 25 acre park located on West Wayne Avenue between Highland Avenue and Atlee Road in Wayne. There are 3 off street parking areas and a variety of fields for sledding, all very kid friendly! The more intense, Willows Township Park is located at 490 Darby Paoli Drive, Villanova.

6.) Bergey’s Mill Park (*Update-Bergey’s Mill is now CLOSED to Sledding)
What this small park in Schwenksville lacks in size, it more than makes up for in hills. The rolling hills and serene landscape make this one of the prettiest sledding destinations in Montgomery County.
