Summer vacations are over, kids are heading back to school, but the weather is still great for getting out in MontCo for weekend fun. September is a great time to check out one of these annual craft and music festivals. Dance to great music, enjoy a variety of great food and shop among skilled artisans and craft vendors at any of these popular events.

Shop a huge variety of handcrafted items at this annual event on September 15 from 9:30 am to 3 pm. Sponsored by the Friends of Pennypacker Mills, the Craft Marketplace features approximately 70 crafters. Items include jewelry, preserves and kitchen products, candles, pottery, Amish-made furniture, knitted clothing, soaps, beeswax products, books, antique collectibles and artwork.

Admission is free along with ample parking in the fields. A food vendor will also be available throughout the day. Some vendors accept credit cards, but be sure to bring cash too! During this special event, tours of the Pennypacker Mansion are also free to the public. Proceeds from the event support the work of the historic site.

Narberth Music Festival – Sept. 16
Downtown Narberth
Haverford Ave. & Forrest Ave., Narberth, PA 19072

Don’t miss the last event for the season in Narberth’s trifecta of festivals! Join the locals as downtown Narberth is turned into a concert hall, art gallery and street fair. The street stage features several musical acts throughout the day from 2 until 7 pm. This year’s line includes Beg, Borrow and Steel, The Tonebenders and Broken Arrow.

From noon to 6 pm Artists’ Alley on Forrest Ave. features the best in the area’s handmade artisan gifts, crafts and art. Click here for a lineup of attending artists and a preview of their work. Along the way there will be plenty to eat from area restaurants and fun activities for the kids too.

The event is free, but organizers request that attendees make at least a $1 donation per person to contribute to Kelly Music for Life. The organization is raising funds to build an arts and music center for the community.

Souderton Art Jam – Sept. 29
98 W Reliance Rd., Souderton, PA 18964

Souderton Art Jam is a day filled with you guessed it – music and art! This year’s festival runs Sept. 29 from 10 am to 5 pm. Five musical groups will take the stage throughout the day beginning at 10 am. Walk the festival grounds and enjoy shopping among the food vendors including those selling specialty products. Three craft breweries and four distilleries – all local businesses – will be serving the over 21 crowd in the Beer Garden from noon to 5 pm.

Stroll through the park and enjoy the artwork of nearly 40 artists as they participate in the juried art show. Artists work includes fine art, jewelry, photography, woodworking, home décor and apparel. Items are also for sale. Kids will have fun with games, a bounce house and an opportunity for sidewalk chalk art.

This event is free with plenty of public parking throughout the town. Souderton Telford Main Streets sponsors the day.
