Lansdale Farmers Market, Happening List Winner
When: Saturdays, May 18 through November 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Penndale Middle School, 400 Street
Why we love them: They are known for weekend events and live music and educational events. You can get in on a few coming up this year like the new Kid’s Day event hosted by Abington Jefferson coming September 7.
Upper Merion Farmers’ Market, Happening List Finalist
When: Saturdays from May 18 to November 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Behind the Upper Merion Township Building, 175 West Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia
Why we love them: In addition to farm fresh veggies, locally produced artisan crafts, and sustainable products, there’s also fun-filled events and live music every weekend. The convenient location of the market makes it easy for visitors to walk, bike or drive.
Telford Night Market (previously the Indian Valley Farmers’ Market, Happening List Finalist)
When: 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights from May through October from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: The Marketplace at Telford Station, Main Street and Penn Avenue, Telford, PA
Why we love them: Are your weekends busy with other activities? The Telford Night Market offers a rare opportunity to shop fresh produce, merchandise and art on a mid-week summer evening.
Ambler Farmers’ Market, Happening List Finalist
When: Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from May 4 through October 26
Where: Septa Parking Lot, corner of Butler and Maple in Ambler
Why we love them: This market is such a community meeting place that you can find local representatives there for coffee with a councilperson. It’s a place to meet local growers and producers as well.
Flourtown Farmers Market, Happening List Finalist
When: Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 1800 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown
Why we love them: This market has been around for more than 30 years. It is the place to go for party trays, wings, hot dogs and even sushi. The warm friendly atmosphere is a draw that keeps people coming back.
Pottstown FARM, Artisan and Regional Market
When: Every other Saturday from June 1 to October 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: 100 E. High Street, Pottstown
Why we love them: In addition to selling fresh local goods in this open-air market, they also participate in the food program SNAP, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program sponsored by the USDA. For every purchase made on your SNAP card at the market, The Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation will add $5 to your buying power.
Jenkintown Farmers Market
When: Every Tuesday night from June 11 through August 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Town Square, Jenkintown
Why we love them: Make a night of it with farm-fresh produce, drinks, music and unique vendors like Tibetan dumplings from Humpty’s Dumplings.
