Anne Keenan, of Ambler, PA, joined by her son Joshua Keenan, was recognized by Santander Bank and the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, September 6 as an honoree in the ‘Santander Community Quarterback’ program.

Congrats to Ambler’s own Anne Keenan. She was recognized for her incredible work in the community at the September 6 Eagles game as an honoree in the second annual ‘Santander Community Quarterback’ program. Santander Bank and the Philadelphia Eagles have once again teamed up to honor exceptional individuals who exemplify leadership, dedication and commitment to improving the communities where they live. Ten winners will be selected by a panel of judges made up of Santander and Eagles representatives throughout the season.

Anne Keenan saw an opportunity to bring together members within her own community to provide books and reading materials to children and families in need. Many children grow up without access to books while other families throw away gently used books. Realizing this, she began collecting lightly used books and donating them to local schools and families. In 2014, Anne moved to the Philadelphia area where she began Reading Recycled. She now serves as Executive Director.

Reading Recycled has a simple mission: put books into the homes of all children. The organization works with local libraries and community partners to coordinate book drives and donate books to schools and community organizations. To date, the organization has donated a remarkable 22,000 books, all benefiting children in the Delaware Valley.

As a winner, Anne Keenan received $500 for the local nonprofit organization of her choice and a VIP experience at the Eagles home game versus the Atlanta Falcons. The VIP experience included the chance to watch the game in the Santander Field Club, located in the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field. At the end of the season, fans will have the opportunity to vote for one of three finalists to be named the Top Community Quarterback. The winner will receive an additional $10,000 to donate to a local nonprofit of his or her choice.

The Eagles and Santander are committed to recognizing outstanding individuals and deeply respect the people who make the Greater Philadelphia region a better place. Nominations are open now through November 16, 2018 and fans will have the opportunity vote for the Top Community Quarterback from December 5 through 19.
