Ambler-Restaurant-Week-LogoStart saving your appetites!  Ambler’s Annual Restaurant Week begins THIS Wednesday, January 11th and continues through Wednesday, January 18th.  Are you in the mood for a prime cut steak? How about an authentic Indian dish?  Maybe a little Southern-style BBQ?  Whatever your choice of taste is, it can surely be found at one of the many restaurants participating in this year’s Ambler Restaurant Week. Restaurants around town taking part in the weeklong event will offer special discounts to patrons.

Let’s take a look at some of the participating restaurants (Please visit the Ambler Main Street website for a complete listing of all partaking restaurants and their specials offered):

Bridget’s Steakhouse: Located in the heart of Ambler, Bridget’s Steakhouse has played a role in the revitalization of downtown Ambler.  Featuring “only choice cuts of meat & exotic flavors of Pacific Region, Bridget’s offers an extensive wine list, full service bar, innovative daily specials, & free valet service nightly.”  Bridget’s Restaurant Week special includes 3 courses for $35.   Some dishes included in the 2nd course are Bronzino, Braised Short Ribs, and Seafood Fra Diovolo.

Trax Café: Described as “A neighborhood gem serving tastefully American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, organic ingredients,” Trax Restaurant and Café is a BYOB situated in the old Ambler Train Station.  Choose 3 courses for $40, with the 2nd course including dishes such as Pan Seared Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb Red Wine Demi,  Porcini Crusted Pan Seared Barbeque Salmon, and Pennsylvania Brook Trout Crispy Skin, Vin Blanc Sauce.

The Lucky Well:  The Lucky Well is this areas go to BBQ cuisine.  The menu includes creative comfort food, a full service whiskey bar and a live music lounge. The bar at The Lucky Well features a top-shelf whiskey collection, which naturally compliment the flavors coming out of the kitchen, along with craft-brewed beers and scratch-made classic cocktails. Most of these cocktails include ingredients used in Chad’s cooking process. This restaurant week, Chef Chad Rosenthal is offering his Memphis style BBQ platter. The platter allows you to sample three of his famous Memphis style BBQ meats (choose from Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Pork Shoulder or Chicken), a side dish, piece of cornbread and a Southern Pie for dessert all for $25.  This is a boatload of food for $25, don’t miss it!

From The Boot: Referred to as “the best Italian restaurant in the area” by some, From The Boot serves everything from Pizza to cannolis.  The restaurant assures “every item on our menu is made with the freshest ingredients from recipes that our guests have savored since we opened our first kitchen.”  Their Restaurant Week special is 3 courses for $28 and includes selections such as Pan Roast Pork Chop, Bucatini Puttanesca, and Risotto Bolognese.

Deterra Restaurant and Wine Bar: Dettera presents sophisticated dining in the center of Philadelphia’s northwestern suburbs, Ambler. Featuring new American cuisine, Chef Jeffery Power’s pairs meals perfectly with Dettera’s premier collection of new and old world wine selections. Dishes are composed with a focus on sustainability, locally farmed, raised and produced ingredients, and the use of our own organic garden during spring and summer. Their restaurant week special is 3 courses for $28 which includes selections such as Grilled Hanger Steak, Sweet Potato Ravioli, and Nordic Pollock.

Gypsy Blu : A newer addition to the Ambler restaurant group,

Their restaurant week special is 3 courses for $35 and includes Truffle Risotto, Homemade Gnocchi, Brown Sugar Rubbed Brisket.

Zakes Cafe: An American Fusion Restaurant featuring an innovative cuisine. Zakes is open for dinner Wed-Sun, Breakfast and Lunch Monday- Saturday and Brunch on Sunday. This old colonial stone house is the backdrop for creative New American cooking with Asian accents. Their restaurant week special is 3 course for $30 and includes Red Wine Braised Organic Lamb Shank, Vietnamese Grilled Pork, Lemongrass Scallops.

Massa: A BYOB, full-service restaurant, Massa is the perfect place to mingle with family and friends while experiencing the flavors of Mediterranean cuisine. This father-son operated restaurant is a concept of a Mediterranean byo allowed them to share their own culture’s appreciation for great food, paired with the diners’ preferred wine. Their restaurant week special is 3 courses for $35 and will be featuring entrees such as Salmon en Croute, Wild Boar Ragu, Stuffed Chicken Breast.

Cantina Feliz: A modern approach to Mexican Food. Their restaurant week special is 3 courses for $24 and will be featuring entrees such as multiple varieties of Enchiladas, Chicken al Caron Tacos, and Brisket Tacos.

KC’s Alley :  As Philadelphia Magazine stated ” An early piece of Ambler’s restaurant revitalization, this Brick-and-wrought iron tavern serves up more than the expected brews, burgers, fries and musical scene to a crowd that appreciates the center city taproom vibe in the suburbs.”  Their restaurant week special is 3 courses for $20 featuring burgers, sandwiches and their margarita pizza.

Saffron: Offering traditional Indian cuisine or the ‘nouveau’ style that is increasingly popular, Saffron offers a unique ambience which is reinforced by the friendly staff who aim to make your dining experience one to remember. Their restaurant week special is $20 per person featuring entrees like Chicken Tikka Masala, Channa Saag, Mix Vegetable Curry , and Chicken Bhuna.

Sweet Briar Cafe : Sweet Briar Cafe is family friendly cafe serving a variety of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and delicious ice cream. Their restaurant week special is 3 course for $20 will feature 3 entrees, Braised beef ravioli, Apple roasted pork, and Shrimp Scampi.
