Enjoy the beauty of MontCo’s many talented professional artists during the second annual Montgomery County Studio Tour. The open house driving tours will take place on Sat., June 9 and Sun., June 10 beginning at 10 am. The free tour event features 21 studios and 52 artists exhibiting their work.

Studio hosts open their doors to fellow artists and the community in a celebration of their work. Painters, potters, sculptors and jewelry artisans will have their work on display and for sale. Spread throughout Montgomery County, visitors can drive to any studios they choose. Peruse and chat at length or stay for a few minutes and move on to the next studio of your choice. Maps are available at each location and online by clicking here.

It may be best to plan your trip in advance. Visit the County Studio Tour website to see a complete listing of studios and artists. Click on an artist’s studio and you will be able to see which artists will be at that site. A description of an artist’s style and examples of their work are also available for preview.

Collector Club

Throughout the weekend, artists will have their work available for purchase within a wide price range. Still, in an effort to make great art affordable for everyone, the Studio Tour has created the County Collector Club. Tour organizers ask each participating artist to create smaller piece of work to sell for only $75. This makes an original piece of art available for a very reasonable price.

Painted works are sized at 6”x 6” and framed in a simple black frame. Each piece also carries a County Collector label. Sculpture and jewelry artisans chose comparable sized work. These pieces become available at 10 am on Saturday and each artist creates only one of these annual collector’s works.

Vote & Win

If you’d like a chance to win $50 toward your purchase of some art during the Studio Tour, go online and vote for your favorite artist. Your participation in the contest will place you in a raffle to win “County Cash,” which you can use toward a purchase with any artist on the tour. Voting for the artists can be done on the studio tour website at www.countystudiotour.com/2018-vote-montco.

The Montgomery County Studio Tour take place during June, following on a similar event that takes place in Chester County. In the fall, Delaware County will operate its own Studio Tour.
