Assemblage Works by Jeanne Lavelle
a T.W.I.G. display through March, 2020
249 N Keswick Avenue – Glenside, PA
Jeanne Lavelle, from Glenside PA, labels herself a “habitual artist.” Her formal art training is limited to elective classes while attending High School and College. As her first public showing, it is with great enthusiasm that she invites the community to consider her latest work – which will be available for purchase.
“My process included meticulous curating of images from magazines dating back to the mid-20th century through modern day. Categorizing and building the arsenal of images took place over the course of 6 months. Images were assembled loosely, then photographed. This method allowed for the reuse of images to support theme and fluidity throughout the collection. My favorite of 48 collage photos were enlarged and framed. This experience has been an exercise for my subconscious; a mapping various internal landscapes. I never set out to create the final pieces, but I recognized them as parts of myself upon completion.”
