Batter Up!

Originally founded in 1859, the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia became a base ball powerhouse in those early years, drawing upon local amateur clubs that became the de facto farm teams for the Athletics. Today, a new Athletics team has emerged to introduce communities around Philadelphia to the well-played game that defined the 1860’s era of fine, high-quality base ball. Come to Pennypacker Mills on Sunday, June 25th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and experience the good old days! FREE admission and parking. A food vendor will be onsite.

This year, the Athletics will play against the Fair Play BBC of Talbot Maryland in a rousing game! Don’t miss this opportunity to cheer on the teams. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Stop by the Pennypacker mansion for a FREE guided tour of this fascinating home of Governor Samuel Pennypacker and his family. The latest exhibit, “Stitch to Learn, Learn to Stitch” is included on all tours. The Museum Shop is stocked with children’s toys, candy, vintage inspired décor, and much more.
