Summer is winding down, but there’s still plenty of opportunity for fun in MontCo! With festivals, outdoor movies and music, and even kitten yoga, there’s something for everyone! Summer Family Friday at the Greater Plymouth Community Center

When: Friday, August 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 2910 Jolly Road, Plymouth Meeting

The whole family will enjoy this night of free fun hosted by the Greater Plymouth Community Center and Plymouth Township Police Department. The free Kids’ Zone will offer arts & crafts, games, a bounce house and more. Plus, there will be live music, tailgate games, face painting, food and more!

Philadelphia Folk Festival

When: Now though Sunday, August 18
Where: Old Pool Farm, 1323 Salford Station Road, Harleysville

The Philly Folk Festival is the longest continually running music festival in the nation and it’s still going strong. Folk music lovers can enjoy traditional and contemporary sounds either by the day or for the extended weekend. Read more about it here.

Movie in the Park: Hotel Transylvania 3

When: Friday, August 16 at dusk (around 8 p.m.)
Where: White’s Road Park, 400 White’s Road, Lansdale

Bring a blanket and snacks, and enjoy the show! This is the final Movie in the Park for this summer.

Harlem Globetrotters at Montgomery County Community College

When: Sunday, August 18 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Where: Montgomery County Community College, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell

The Harlem Globetrotters are making their Montgomery County debut this Sunday! Living History Sunday at Pottsgrove Manor

When: Sunday, August 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 100 West King Street, Pottstown

Bring everyone in the family to take part in hands-on history. This Sunday will focus on leatherwork, cooking, spinning and weaving. There’s a lot to learn about skills and trades of the 18th century. Everyone can try their hand at period toys and games to complete their historical experience. There is a suggested $2 donation per person for this event.

Ambler Sunday Evening Summer Concert Series: The Monkeephiles

When: Sunday, August 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: 580 Meethinghouse Road, Ambler

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of free entertainment! The Monkeephiles is a Monkees Tribute band.

Yoga with Kittens at Willow Grove Park Mall

When: Sunday, August 18 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: 2500 West Moreland Road, 2nd Floor, Near Bloomingdales, Willow Grove

Stretch your body and play with adorable kittens! Instructor Eric Dyke will lead the group in an hour-long yoga practice. And kittens from Hart 2 Heart will keep you laughing! Register in advance here. Class costs $20, and you must bring your own mat.
