Now that December is here, Montgomery County is in full holiday mode! Take a look at some of our favorite events happening this weekend. Holiday Garden Railway at Morris Arboretum

When: Now through December 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and select nights from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: 100 E. Northwestern Avenue, Philadelphia

Visitors of all ages will be wowed by a quarter mile of track featuring seven loops and tunnels with fifteen different rail lines and two cable cards, nine bridges, and more! It’s all set in a lovely winter garden with all of the displays and building made of natural materials. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased HERE.

Coventry Mall Santa Storytime

When: Fridays, December 4, 2020, 8-9pm; December 11, 2020, 8-9pm; December 18, 2020, 8-9pm via Zoom; $3.50 each to register.
Where: Virtual, anywhere of your choosing via Zoom (will receive appropriate link upon registering)

Gather around family and friends, prepare the hot cocoa &cookies and snuggle in via Zoom to hear Santa read a story! Purchase a Zoom link for $3.50 and register in advance via the WEBSITE to secure your space (spaces are limited!)

Variety’s Holiday Lane

When: Thursday, December 3 – Saturday, December 5; Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Variety – The Children’s Charity, 2950 Potshop Road, Worcester

From December 3 – 5, Variety will open its campus to visitors to walk or drive along a festive Holiday Lane in which the exterior of the organization’s rustic cabins will be lit up with holiday lights and decorated in holiday themes by the talented Norristown Garden Club members. Montgomery Community College Online Open House

When: Saturday, December 5 from 10 a.m. to noon
Where: ONLINE

Discover all that Montgomery County Community College has to offer at their Winter Online Open House! Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Enjoy a wide range of event programming, panels, and presentations
  • Learn about our flexible programs
  • Discover affordable ways to pay for college
  • Ask questions during live Q&A breakout rooms with faculty and staff

The event is free and open to the public. Prospective students and their families are encouraged to attend.  Pre-register for the event.

Candlelight Night at Morgan Log House

When: December 5, 2020; 4-7pm.
Where: Morgan Log House, 850 Weikel Road, Kulpsville

Constructed in the early 1700’s, the Morgan Log House is regarded as one of the oldest surviving homes in Montgomery County. Join them for one exclusive, festive evening by candlelight and learn about the holiday and winter traditions of the houses’ former residents.

Brunch with Santa at Elmwood Park Zoo

When: December 5, 8:30am-1:45pm; December 6, 8:30-1:45pm; December 12, 8:30-1:45pm; December 13, 8:30am-1:45pm; December 19, 8:30am-1:45pm; December 20, 8:30am-1:45pm; $49.95 for adults 13 and older, $39.95 for children ages 2-13, 2 and under are $10.95.

Where: Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd, Norristown, PA 19401

Enjoy interacting with Santa, creating holiday crafts, meeting an education animal and more while feasting on a flavorful brunch buffet! Snap a photo with Santa, then explore the zoo after filling up on holiday favorites! There are 8 brunch sessions held on select days in December and reservations are required, as spaces are limited.
