How are you spending this post-holidays winter weekend? Here are a few ideas! (Hint: There actually are a few lingering holiday events if you just can’t let go yet.)

Fire and Frost Fun at Peddler’s Village 

When: Friday, January 8 and Saturday, January 9
Where: Street Road and Route 263, Lahaska

If you haven’t had a chance to go to Peddler’s Village yet (or want to go again) this season, this is your last chance before the lights and decor come down. PLUS, there will be a Village-wide display of more than 20 ice sculptures! Fast-paced, high energy live ice carvings will be performed by Ice Concepts Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be a family-friendly Jack Frost scavenger hunt. And, indoor dining will be open again!

A Very Furry Christmas Sesame Place

When: Saturday, January 9 and Sunday, January 10
Where: Sesame Place, 100 Sesame Road, Langhorne

Sesame Place has extended their Christmas celebration through January 18 on select days!

A Longwood Christmas

When: Now though January 17; Gardens open daily, 10am-11pm; timed admissions tickets are required.
Where: Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square

A Longwood Christmas has been extended through January 17, and as of Monday, January 4, indoor attractions including the Conservatory, Peirce-du Pont House, Webb Farmhouse and the Pumphouse will be reopened. Take in the famed Garden Railway, a display of 31 locomotives, steam engines, diesel engines, specialty engines and even childhood favorite, Thomas the Tank Engine! Becoming a “tunnel of light,” for the holidays, it is a fun way to add delight to the season.

Enjoy holiday music from Rob Dickenson & The Brandywine Christmas Minstrels while taking in the outdoor displays. Don’t forget to take in the transfixing open-air theatre fountain shows!

Christmas Tree Recycling Event

When: Saturday and Sunday, January 9 and 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Althouse Arboretum, 1794 Gilbertsville Road, Pottstown

This FREE community dff rop-oevent is sponsored by the students of the 501c3 nonprofit GreenAllies. Student volunteers will be there to remove the tree from your vehicle. This is a “drive-through” event. Trees will be chipped by Upper Pottsgrove Township and used on the trails! Cash donations accepted. Give your tree a second purpose!

Wicked Descendants Event at Sweet & Sassy

When: Saturday, January 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
Where: 250 Plaza Drive, Collegeville

Includes Descendants up-do with wash out hair color, polish on fingernails, dancing and singing, plus snacks to take home. And a pink limo ride! Space is limited. $30 per child. Call or book online.
