Glencarin Museum (Bryn Athyn)

Admission: $8 Adults, $6 Seniors/Students with I.D., Members and children 4 and under Free. $20.00 family cap (up to 4 individuals in one household. Half price for additional guests).

Glencairn’s Halloween Festival has become an annual tradition for kids and adults alike. Explore the galleries and art by looking for clues in the Harry Potter scavenger hunt. Watch a demonstration of the ancient harvest-time art of wheat weaving, and learn how to make your own. Take self-guided tours of the whole Museum, and relax at the Castle Café. Please feel free to come in costume!

Varner Farms (Collegeville)
Fall Harvest has begun at Varner Farms. Come out to pick your own apples any day from 9AM-6:30PM through mid October. A large corn maze is also open to the public during normal business hours. For those interested in wagon rides to a pumpkin patch, stop by 10AM-5PM on Saturdays or Monday through Friday 12-5PM. Varner Farms also offers educational apple and pumpkin tours during October. Children may be interested in visiting with the local farm animals which include sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, and mini horses.

Spring Mountain (Schwenksville)
Montgomery County’s Spring Mountain, a popular ski resort, is transformed into “Scream Mountain” during the month of October. Haunted hayrides as well as haunted chair lift rides take place 6:30-10:30PM Fridays/Saturdays and 6:30-9:30PM on Sundays. For those with small children looking for non-scary Halloween fun, visit Spring Mountain on October 22nd between 1-5PM to explore the Kids Maze, Bounce House, and to go on a traditional hayride.

Freddy Hills Farms (Lansdale)
Visit the 25th Annual Freddy’s Fall Fest from 12-5PM every Saturday and Sunday during the month of October. The event features $2.50 hayrides to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, cider, funnel cake, and pony rides. A highlight of the Fall Fest are the pig races held each weekend day at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30PM!

Maple Acres Farm Market (Plymouth Meeting)
Maple Acres Farm Market boasts a selection of pumpkins and gourds “that come in almost any shape, size, and color.” Open from 8AM-7PM daily, a variety of other fall crops have recently arrived, including squash, turnips, broccoli, and apples. Hayrides are tentatively scheduled for October 28th, be sure to check the website for further details.
