See how you can get the designer look for less at Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, PA’s UpCycle Challenge Home Tour on Saturday, April 19th and Saturday, April 26 between 11am and 2pm. For a suggested donation of $10 to Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, PA (HFHMC), you can see how five DIY-savvy contestants transformed a simple Habitat house into a Pinterest-worthy home. Located on 140 Penn St. in Hatfield, the UpCycle Challenge home will feature many ReStore Montco items. Become inspired and vote for your favorite room. The contestant with the most votes will win a $100 gift card to ReStore Montco. A lucky tour attendee will be randomly selected to win a $25 ReStore Montco gift card.
The UpCycle Challenge contestants (in alphabetical order) are Kristen Albone owner of Home By Kristen, Holly Gruszka owner of West Pear Interiors, mother daughter team Katie Pietrak owner of Vintage Vinyl Journals and Diane Pietrak, Laura Rodgers, and Lauren Nolan-Sellers co-founder of Trust the Vision Decor.
To save on home decorating costs, the contestants utilized and repurposed materials and furniture from ReStore Montco. ReStore Montco is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used building materials, furniture, home accessories, appliances and much more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Items are generously donated by individuals, small businesses and corporations. All ReStore Montco proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity programs in Montgomery County. Since 2010, ReStore Montco has contributed over $300,000 to HFHMC and diverted over 400 tons of usable material from the landfill.
