In order to ensure fairness and accuracy in The Happening List competition, an extensive audit process is in place while tabulating the results. Please see below for a basic overview:
1. All voters are required to provide email addresses at the time of their vote.
2. At the conclusion of the contest, Happenings Media emails every single voter (see below) through an email marketing platform. The platform provides a detailed account of which email addresses do not exist.
3. It is not necessary for valid voters to take any action at this point. Invalid email addresses and those who respond saying they did not vote are identified and subsequently removed from the voting results. IP address audit and other more advanced means are are used as well.
4. Once accuracy of all of the voters’ email addresses has been established, Happenings Media calculates the final results.
