While summer certainly is a time for carefree trips to the swimming pool and weekends down the shore, it is also the perfect opportunity for kids to experiment with new activities. Summer camps are popular for a number of reasons- kids get a chance to make new friends, establish a summer routine, and learn valuable skills- all while having FUN! Plus, parents are able to buy some much needed time- whether for work, errands, or for their own R&R.
With June just around the corner, many parents are now searching for that perfect Montgomery County summer camp experience for their kids and Montco Happening just got the inside scoop on a brand new camp in town.
A new camp in Hatfield, being offered by the renowned Bucks County Academy of Fencing, could be the perfect summer camp experience for your child. Fencing is extremely safe, provides a physical & mental challenge, and offers a welcoming, close-knit community.
Who can attend BCAF’s fencing camp?
BCAF is offering a summer fencing camp at their Hatfield location
The camp is geared for age 9 – 17 years from beginners thru more advanced fencers. Fencers are welcome to participate in the entire session or only specific days.
What does BCAF’s fencing camp include?
• Dynamic warm-up
• Group lessons & paired exercises
• Lunch Break
• Individual lessons
• Competitive exercises
• Videotape Analysis
• Special Lecture Sessions
• Practice Bouting
• Special Sessions about goal setting, refereeing & judging, physical conditioning, fencing history, strategy and tactics and more.
What does BCAF’s fencing camp cost?
Non-members: $95 per day or $425 for all 5 days OR Family rate: $85 per child per day or $350 per child for all 5 days
BCAF members: $90 per day or $395 for all 5 days OR Family rate: $80 per child per day or $325 per child for all 5 days
Early drop-off & late pick-up: Before care from 8-8:45 a.m. and after care from 2:30-3 p.m. are available for registered campers. The cost is $10 per camper for each time-slot needed.
