Home. The meaning of the word has changed for many of us in the past two years. Most of us have spent much more time there, due to working from home or simply because we are not out and about or traveling as much. For many, this has meant viewing our four walls with a new lens; and it may be one you just aren’t loving. With the real estate market in wild flux, now may not be the ideal time for you to move. But you can move those walls or change an entry way, maybe flip a bathroom to get that refresh or added space you desperately need. If home design is beyond your comfort zone, take a little inspiration from this home renovation right here in Bucks County. With a little foresight from the experts at Milex Residential, this Warminster family got exactly what they needed to turn their current home into a beautiful new space that fulfills all their needs.
Outside Space Makeover
The existing outside space of this home was fine, but by improving the current layout and adding a wow-worthy living area, complete with an outdoor fan and heaters, this became an entertaining space for them to enjoy all year long. Now movie night can be inside or out, with equally stylish and comfortable spaces.

Mudroom -In order to have a more functional and spacious mudroom, the laundry area was moved upstairs to its own space. Where the laundry machines once sat is now a spacious, organized and useful area that the family utilizes from the garage or back patio (dual entry). There is incredible storage for all the items you want to hide away- shoes, coats, bags, (look at those hooks!) and more with easy access for everyone in the family.
In addition, this entry now includes a full bathroom that is accessible from the backyard pool area for easy showering. It’s now the perfect living space for this family!

Updated Bathrooms and a Little Bump Out Too
With a little creative thinking, their current master bedroom was re-worked to both provide more space and incorporate the laundry room. A small bump out allowed Milex Residential to work within the existing space to create more storage, a master bath, and tastefully include a laundry room. The master bath also got a makeover with stunning tile work and a gorgeous new tub. Custom cabinets in the master bath create a one-of-a-kind look.
The kids’ bathroom got a complete refresh with new cabinets, lighter colored fixtures and more space. By changing the configuration, the former master bath became a Jack and Jill bathroom for the children to share. The updated spaces are now perfect for the family to grow into.

It’s the Little Things
The difference between a nice home and a fabulous home is always in the finishing details. This home upgraded finishes and fixtures, and achieved drama with new doorways and updated hallway treatments.

Lasting Impressions
A seamless update to the exterior of this space was created by tying together the older brick with new brick. The addition of the bump out created a beautiful, modern architectural element that added dimension to an otherwise flat portion of the home. The small changes had big payoffs creating more usable interior space.
This family now has the home of their dreams in a place they love and can’t wait to use their new space for years to come.
