As part of its ongoing redevelopment project, Montgomery Mall, a Simon center, announced three new retailers that will open at the property in Fall 2015.
Kicking off the announcement is popular casual wear retailer UNIQLO, specializing in men’s, women’s and children’s quality-made, everyday apparel and accessories. UNIQLO’s parent organization is Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., a Japanese retail holding company that designs and sells brands such as Helmut Lang, J Brand and Theory. Currently, UNIQLO is one of the fastest growing retail brands in the world, with 39 stores in the United States alone. The brand’s Montgomery Mall store will be located on the Upper Level near Sears.
“We anticipate a huge response from the community in adding such a coveted brand to our retail roster,” said Ashley Pompei, Director of Marketing and Business Development. “UNIQLO brings affordable, versatile, stylish clothing to the forefront and we’re confident our shoppers will welcome a company that is so committed to delivering quality and value to its customers.”
Nationwide chain Famous Footwear will also reenter Montgomery’s retail mix, providing shoe brands at discounted prices and rounding out the new openings is barbeque restaurant Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill. This casual eatery, known for its fire grill and in-house smoker, will make its Pennsylvania storefront debut at Montgomery Mall and will be located by the Wegmans entrance.
In addition to new openings, existing mall stores such as Payless ShoeSource have undergone extensive renovations. The newly updated Payless will reopen its doors on the Lower Level near JCPenney.
Previously announced casual burger joint Grub Burger Bar will open on Tuesday in the mall lot between Wegmans and Macy’s, while popular American women’s clothing and accessories retailer White House | Black Market will open its doors in early 2016 on the Upper Level near Wegmans.
These brands, along with newly opened retailers Justice, Vans, J.Jill, Zoës Kitchen, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and Clarks are the latest announcements in a long list of new offerings to join Montgomery’s retail roster over the past year.
Since February 2014, the mall has embarked on a multimillion-dollar renovation project, focusing on a redesigned exterior and entrances, refreshed retail spaces, a children’s play area and upgraded lighting and hardscape. The redevelopment project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2015 and will be marked with a grand re-opening celebration.
