Montgomery County….the weekend is upon us!  Once again, great weather is in the forecast and there is much to do around the county.  Restaurant specials, live music, and even a Celtic Heritage Festival are a few of the things going on this weekend that are only minutes away.  Save the “relaxing at home” for another time and check out some of the local events below.

Restaurant Week Continues in Ambler: Through Friday, restaurants around town taking part in the weeklong event will offer special discounts to patrons.  Also, live music and art displays will provide restaurant-goers with added entertainment as they take in the local scenery.  Following Restaurant Week on July 16th, a grand Art Stroll from 11-5PM promises retail excitement along with more live music.  From what we’ve heard about the event so far, there’s plenty of action and people are having a wonderful time.

Celtic Heritage Festival @ Graeme Park (Horsham): For anyone with Celtic heritage around the Philadelphia area, this is the event of the weekend.  The 15th Annual Celtic Festival at Graeme Park this weekend features vendors, musical entertainment, dancers, and more.  Running from 10AM-6PM, the day is loaded with musical performers.  Please visit the Graeme Park website for the complete line-up.

Great American Guitar Show @ The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center (Oaks): Visit the Philadelphia Expo Center from 10AM-6PM this Saturday and from 10AM-4PM on Sunday to see the Great American Guitar Show.  Guitar enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels will have access to a remarkable selection of acoustic and electric guitars.

Wild and Edible Medicinal Plants Class @ Norristown Farm Park: Does anyone else like “Survivor Man” as much as we do?  If the answer is yes, or you just want to be prepared in case you find yourself lost in the wild, attending this class would be a wise decision.  At 6PM this Sunday, Norristown Farm Park will host a class that teaches attendees how to identify safe plants to eat as well as how to prepare them.  Meet in Parking Lot #3 at Norristown Farm Park or call 610-270-0215 for more information.

Jonny Lang @ Keswick Theatre (Glenside): On Friday at 8PM, Grammy Award-winner Jonny Lang takes the stage at the Keswick Theatre.  Only 30 years old, Jonny is already considered one of the top bluesmen in the business by many.  Promotion for the event states, “His undeniable guitar chops and powerful voice make for a night of live blues not to be missed!”
