Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, but it’s also a time to recognize and remember those who have died performing their military duties serving in the United States Armed Forces. Montgomery County will be honoring our veterans throughout the weekend with events, parades and workouts. Find all of Montgomery County’s Memorial Day happenings right here. Memorial Day Observance
When: Saturday, May 27th, 11 am – 1 pm
Where: Historic Montgomery Cemetery, 1 Hartranft Ave, Norristown, PA
Local Boy Scout Troops, Civil War reenactors, local Masonic Lodge members and others will assist in the wreath laying and program.
Memorial Day Storytime at the Library
When: Saturday, May 29, 10:30 am – 11 am
Where: Wissahickon Valley Public Library, 209 Race Street, Ambler, PA
Sing-a-long with Miss Delia on the ukelele and listen to stories read aloud, followed by a craft. This event is for children ages 2-4 and their caregivers.
Kicks and Sips by the Vineyard
When: Saturday, May 27th, 11 am – 12 pm
Where: 3857 Germantown Pike, Collegeville, PA
Action Karate Royersford helps people from ages 3 to 93 to build confidence and improve fitness. Kicks and Sips is a great workout where you will learn practical self defense skills and tips. All skill levels are welcome.
Memorial Day Weekend Old School Hip Hop Rewind

SoulJoel presents a Memorial Day Weekend Old School Hip Hop Rewind with DJ Dre Money. The party and dancing starts at 9 pm. Tickets are $10.

Every year on Memorial Day, many CrossFit gyms, military members, veterans, and civilians participate in the MURPH workout to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation. The workout consists of a mile run, followed by 300 air squats, 200 push-ups, 100 pull-ups, and ends with another mile run.
