My name is Maria and I am the proud owner of Hick’s Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor located in Huntingdon Valley, PA. The name Hick’s is in honor of my dad. Growing up my dad (Mike) was always known as “Hick.” It was a nickname he developed as a teenager, and it actually stuck with him all those years, even up until he died from cancer in 2013. So when I decided to open an ice cream shop, I thought there was no better name to honor. We are a small family owned ice cream parlor serving old time favorites such as hand-dipped ice cream, milkshakes, root beer floats, sundaes, as well as our signature “Hickwich.” We strive on friendly personality and amazing service. Founded in 1964, Bucks County Community College is a two-year, public institution that offers more than 80 programs of study that lead to either an associate degree or certificate, as well as many noncredit certificate and workforce training programs. Classes are offered in an online or hybrid format, as well as in-person on campuses in Newtown, Bristol, and Perkasie.

Bucks recently opened its 28,000 square-foot Center for Advanced Technologies on their Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks in Bristol to invest in the future of the workforce and financial health of the Bucks County region. The new facility is home to their manufacturing pre-apprenticeship programs, welding program, CDL training, and HVAC programs.

For high school students who aim to earn college credits before they graduate, Bucks offers dual enrollment opportunities through partnerships with several local schools including Neshaminy High School and Bensalem High School. Dual enrollment allows students to take college level courses at Bucks to earn transferable college credits.

Flickering candles illuminate the windows, as the music from minstrels can be heard in the distance. All the while, you feel drawn by the aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Welcome to the Old Village Roastery! A coffee experience like no other. This isn’t just any coffee, this is “Forge Roasted” coffee; a time-honored method of roasting coffee over an open wood fire. Intense radiant heat emanating from the flame and the glowing embers, penetrate the bean much deeper than commercial coffee roasters can produce.. The result, a bean that is roasted to absolute perfection. We work closely with our importer to select the best beans that are best suited to withstand our unique roasting process. Our Signature Coffees include one single-source bean from each of the Coffee Regions (Americas, Africa, and Asia). We also roast more exotic beans such as 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain and Kona Coffee (both 100% certified; not blends). Because of our custom-designed Coffee Forge and our roasting method, we can produce some truly unique and fun roasts not found anywhere in the world. These include:

● Caife Graelach – Our version of Irish Coffee and inspired by the methods that produce
some of the world’s finest Scotch, Caife Graelach is roasted using Irish Peat instead of
our usual cherry hardwood. This produces a unique flavor so authentic, that you won’t
find it anywhere in the Highlands.
● Transylvania Roast. Following a recipe right out of Hogwarts, our mysterious
Transylvania Roast is infused with a concoction of Dragon’s Blood, Mugwort, and
Frankincense while roasting. Scary stuff is only available during the Halloween season.
● Puritan Roast – Our Puritan Roast is designed to complement the traditional
Thanksgiving dinner. It is infused with Sage, Rosemary, Orange Peel, Cinnamon
Sticks, and some other secret herbs and spices that we can’t quite remember. .
● Coal Roasted Coffee. Coal-roasted coffee is unique and difficult to produce. We
designed and built a special coal forge (similar to a blacksmith’s forge) to produce an
extremely intense flame, which deeply penetrates the bean, creating a richer and
smoother finish than our usual forge roasting produces. Perfect for the holiday season.

The Flemington Craft Barn was hatched by two sisters (and best friends)! in September 2021 and became a reality in February 2022. We offer a huge variety of arts & crafts during open art, as well as during special events, art lessons, camps, homeschool classes, toddler time, special needs events, and all types of parties. Sometimes, we even pop up at local fairs and festivals! Additionally, we offer a variety of music lessons (one-on-one) as well as group classes, parties, and open music time.
