Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, but it’s also a time to recognize and remember those who have died performing their military duties serving in the United States Armed Forces. Montco will be honoring our veterans throughout the weekend with events and parades. Find all of Montgomery County’s Memorial Day happenings right here. Memorial Day Community Ruck Walk

Memorial Day Concert with BBQ at Philmont Country Club

The Philmont Country Club is holding a Memorial Day Concert. There will be live music, good company, and delicious food.

Memorial Day at Historic Montgomery Cemetery

Saturday, May 25th, 11 am – 1 pm
1 Hartranft Ave, Norristown, PA

The Historical Society of Montgomery County will honor the service of soldiers and veterans interred at Historic Montgomery Cemetery. Wreaths will be laid at the monuments of General John Frederick Hartranft, General Winfield Scott Hancock, The Memorial Rose Garden, and at the GAR Zook Post #11 Plot. The day’s observance will begin at 11:00 AM. Local Boy Scout troops, Civil War reenactors, local Masonic Lodge members, and other swill assist in the wreath laying and program. Volley fire at each site will be provided by Baker Fisher Camp #101. Many of the participants will be dressed in period costumes. Sons of the Union Veterans will conduct the Rose Petal Ceremony at the graves of Civil War soldiers at the Zook GAR Post. Children in attendance will be asked to assist in the Ceremony. Members of the community are encouraged to join in this observance. The cemetery gates will be open with parking available. The cemetery is located at 1 Hartranft Avenue, Norristown.

Harleysville Jaycees Country Fair Days

May 22-25
Harleysville Community Center, 435 Park Drive, Harleysville, PA

The Country Fair Days event is the Harleysville Jaycees’ largest fundraiser, yielding much-needed funds to support many local organizations, including police, fire, EMS, local food banks, the Harleysville Community Center, scout troops, youth organizations, and other groups that benefit the local community. Each day will feature great food and entertainment for the whole family, including amusement rides and games. Special themes and events are scheduled for each day. There will be fireworks at 9:30 pm on Friday and a parade on Saturday at 11 am.

Hatfield Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 27th, 9 am – 1 pm
2100 Koffel Road, Hatfield, PA

The 78th Hatfield American Legion is hosting the Memorial Day Parade in Hatfield. The parade starts immediately following the Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Veteran Memorial at Market and Broad Street. It then will proceed down Broad Street and turn left onto Koffel Road, ending at American Legion Post. The ceremony starts at approximately 11 am. There will be guest speakers, show of colors, retirement of colors, 21 gun salute by civil war re-enactors and more.

2024 Collegeville-Trappe Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 27th, 9 am – 1 pm am
Parade begins at Augustus Lutheran Church, 7th Ave, Trappe, PA

The parade is led by members of VFW Post 7155.  All area residents, groups and businesses are invited to take part in the parade. The parade begins at Augustus Lutheran Church on Seventh Avenue in Trappe, proceeds down Main Street to First Ave at the Trappe Shopping Center, then right on First Avenue to the entrace to Waterworks Park. Remembrance Service and Community Day begins shortly after the parade ends at Waterworks Park, at 11 a.m.

Harleysville Memorial Day Parade

Saturday, May 25th, 11 am
Harleysville, PA

This year, the parade will be held on Saturday, May 25. As in previous years, the parade will assemble at Indian Valley Middle School on Maple Avenue in Harleysville at 9:30 a.m. The mile-long parade will begin its course promptly at 11 a.m. It’s always a great idea to setup and prepare in advance so you can enjoy the event and parade as much as the onlookers, please don’t wait until the last minute! Award winners will be announced at approximately 1:30 pm at the Harleysville Community Center.
