Carolyn Berger of Blue Dog Pub is the 2025 Montco Happening List® Best Bartender. This is the second year in a row that a bartender from Blue Dog Pub has won!
Carolyn started at Blue Dog as a hostess almost 19 years ago and has been bartending there for the past five years. She was never formally trained in making cocktails. She learned on the job when Blue Dog’s owners asked her to try serving and bartending. Carolyn says that the staff at Blue Dog is like family, and she’s made some dear friends and dedicated regulars.
Along with Carolyn winning Best Bartender, Blue Dog Pub won the 2025 Happening List Best Wings and was nominated for Trivia Night and Best Beer Bar.
Carolyn shared with us two of Blue Dog’s most popular summer cocktails that you can try at the bar or make yourself with the recipes below.
Sweet Seduction
- Add to a Shaker:
- Ice
- 1 oz Malibu Coconut Rum
- 1 oz Banana Liqueur
- A Splash of Grenadine
- Fill the rest of the way with Pineapple Juice
- Shake and pour over ice
- Garnish with an Orange Slice and a Lime Slice
Mermaid Water
- Add to a shaker:
- Ice
- 1 oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
- 1 oz Malibu Coconut Rum
- A Splash of Blue Curacao
- Fill the rest of the way with Pineapple Juice
- Shake and Pour over ice
- Garnish with a Maraschino Cherry and an Orange Slice
Blue Dog has free pool on Wednesday and Sundays, their own Pool League, and Trivia Night on Tuesdays. Blue Dog Pub is located at 850 South Valley Forge Road at the Allen-Forge Shopping Center in Lansdale.
