Montgomery County Concert Band Performance
Join the Montgomery County Concert Band on Sunday, November 24 at 3:00 pm for an afternoon of music at Dock Mennonite Academy (formerly known as Pennview Christian Academy), 420 Godshall Road, Souderton. With a theme of “Colors,” the concert features a variety of audience-pleasing tunes ranging from traditional to contemporary to jazz and ends with a spirited version of Yellow Submarine composed by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
The Band is directed by Charles Neidhardt, former Music Department Chairperson for the Methacton School District, assisted by Bret Mascaro, former Music Educator at Methacton, and Ryan Pongras, Elementary Music Educator in the Souderton School District. Comprised of close to 80 area musicians who volunteer their time and talent to bring high quality music performance to the community, the Band has performed over 300 concerts for community parks and retirement communities as well as a formal spring and fall concert each year, since its 1995 inception. The Band looks forward to performing their 25th anniversary celebration concert on Sunday, May 3, also at Dock Academy.
Dock Mennonite Academy is handicap accessible and the auditorium is on the first floor. No admission is charged but free will donations are accepted and appreciated. The Band also supports Manna on Main Street in Lansdale, so if you are able, please bring a donation of a canned or boxed food item, or household cleaning supplies.

Plymouth Township Holiday Tree Lighting
Dec 4 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Plymouth Township’s parks and recreation department invites the community to bring plenty of holiday cheer to the township’s third annual holiday tree lighting on Dec. 4. The event is free and open to the public.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to help residents spread joy. New this year, families can enjoy hayrides and make ornaments during the evening of merrymaking. Cookies and hot chocolate will be offered free of charge.

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Instrumental Ensemble and Plymouth Elementary School’s third-grade Spirit Team will provide this year’s musical entertainment.

The first event in 2017 drew more than 500 people, according to Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Philip Brady Jr.  With additional activities, officials expect an even larger turnout.

“This has become a very popular event in the township the last two years,” Plymouth Township Council Vice Chairman Chris Manero said, adding that it’s a great way for neighbors to “share some holiday cheer together.”

The event is sponsored by Weis Markets, Philly Yard Bar and Maples Acres Farm and Market.

If you go

Mark your calendar for Plymouth Township’s third annual holiday tree lighting on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Service and Devotion monument, which is located at the corner of Walton Road and Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting.
