Alice Paul, Suffragette
Jun 26 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Meet Alice Paul, the author of the equal rights amendment and the driving force behind women’s obtaining the right to vote in 1920. Ms. Paul will describe her experiences as a suffragette and bring home the importance of the cause the guided her whole life.

Actress Alisa Dupuy will portray Alice Paul in this first-person program. She began her business as a labor of love that grew out of a desire to study history, wear the fashions of different eras and bring history to life in a lively and fun way.  History doesn’t have to be boring!

Alisa is also an accomplished middle school teacher who speaks five languages.

John Wanamaker: Businessman, Philanthropist & Civic Minded Philadelphian
Jul 17 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Meet me at the Eagle,” was a frequent suggestion for Philadelphians over the years. The statue was impressive and so was the store named for its founder, John Wanamaker. Civic-minded and charitable, Wanamaker fostered a progressive relationship with his employees. He made it possible for them to go to school and built a vacation amusement place for employees to use on the weekends.

Actor Bob Gleason’s Wanamaker gives us the story of a businessman and philanthropist who provided variety and fun for his customers and employees and a worthy role model for modern business owners and leaders.

Our presenter will speak from the mansion porch. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on the lawn. Wear a mask and social distance. Fun for all ages.
