Ursinus College has teamed with The Collegeville Economic Development Corp. (CEDC) to offer “Dinner and a Show,” with local restaurants offering dinner specials to individuals attending the Ursinus Theater Department’s slapstick British comedy “Noises Off.”Noises Off

“Noises Off,” by British playwright and novelist Michael Frayn, will be performed Feb. 20 through Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center’s Lenfest Theater. It is directed by Beverly Redman, Chair of the Theater and Dance Department. Tickets are $5 for general admission, and $2 for students and senior citizens. For information and reservations, please contact the Box Office at 610-409-3030.

Written in 1982, “Noises Off” is more than a play within a play. It hilariously offers three variations of a fictional comedy: dress rehearsal, backstage and end of run. The result is off-stage bedlam and on-stage chaos. The idea for the Noises Off came to Frayn as he watched a performance of his one-act play Chinamen from backstage.
