Elmwood Park Zoo is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year. But with its newest exhibit, the Norristown destination will take guests back in time roughly 145 million years!
The Zoo is opening a new exhibit on Friday, July 19, showcasing a moving, 65-foot long and 35-foot tall brachiosaurus model. The exhibit will be located next to the carousel, at the zoo’s pond. Installation began Sunday, July 14. In addition to the massive, life-like dinosaur, the display will feature an interactive dinosaur dig pit and various educational artifacts and replicas. Of course, there will plenty of opportunities for fun photos.
Elmwood Park Zoo is asking for the public’s help in giving the new dino a name. Their survey includes the names Dwayne “The Brach” Johnson, Becky with the Long Neck, Bracha Lee, Elmur, Zacheosaurus the Brachiosaurus, and Spaghetti. To cast your vote, visit the survey here.
Your zoo admission includes entry in the dinosaur exhibit. It is a temporary exhibit, so be sure to visit before it’s gone!
