Local farms and artisan food producers are amping up for farmers market season. All around Montgomery County they are opening to provide customers with the freshest local foods available, including fresh fruits, vegetables, prepared foods, and so many other products.

Go local and enjoy fresher produce that lasts longer, has less handling than in the big grocery stores, and you’re supporting your local farmers and artisans.

Here’s a list of some of the best farmers markets in Montgomery County, featuring our 2021 Happening List Winner, finalists, plus a few more.

Lansdale Farmers Market – 2020 Montco Happening List Winner

When: Saturdays, May 15 to December 18  from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. dog-free, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. all welcome.

Where: Penndale Middle School, 400 Penn Street, Lansdale

Along with the freshest, in-season produce, the market offers baked goods, dairy products, coffee, candy, self-care products, and plants. Customers are asked to wear a mask, follow social distancing rules, and follow directional signs through the market.  Pre-orders are still available.

 

Telford Night Market – Happening List Finalist

When: Wednesday nights July 1 to September 2nd, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Telford Train Station, Penn Avenue and Main Street, Telford

The market serves up local wine and spirits, ice cream, waffles, nut butters, food trucks, sea food, and more.  Customers are required to follow the state’s social distancing guidelines. For more information, please visit www.stmainst.org.

 

Ambler Farmers Market – Happening List Finalist

When: Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon, May until November

Where: 29 W. Butler Pike, Ambler

Come and sample the fresh food and products grown and made in the region. Every stand accepts FMNP vouchers, and most accept credit and debit cards. Some have CSA shares available. Horsham Farmers Market – Happening List Finalist

When: Sundays, beginning June 6 through November 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Behind the Horsham Township Community Center, 1025 Horsham Road, Horsham.

Produce, baked goods, local wines, and microgreens are just a few of the items you will find at the Horsham Farmers Market. Pottstown FARM (Artisan and Regional Market) – Happening List Nominee

When: Every other Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May 15 to October 30

Where: Smith Family Plaza, 100 E. High Street, Pottstown

Besides produce and art products, Pottstown FARM offers several programs for children and other events. To keep everyone safe, organizers ask that customers wear masks, social distancing, and follow instructions. Customers can purchase in person or online. Please visit www.pottstownfarm.org.

 

Flourtown Farmers Market-Happening List Nominee

When: Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: 1800 Bethlehem Pike

This market overachieves in the prepared food category! It offers meals from around the world, including the Middle East, Mexico, and Peru, as well as seafood, coffee, cheese, sweets, and wines. Customers are asked to remember masks and social distancing rules.

 

Upper Merion Farmers Market

When: Saturdays, rain or shine, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., mid-May to November

Where: behind the township building, 175 W. Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia

Ardmore Farmers Market

When: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Suburban Square, 120 Coulter Ave.

Dresher Farmers Market

When: The market is offering no-contact shopping online at dresherfarmmarket.com.

Where: 2038 Limekiln Pike

This farm market is run by farmers who understand the value of small businesses to a community. They cannot operate in person this year but will offer online service with local pick-up spots or delivery.
