Memorial Day is about honoring our fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for America and its citizens. Communities throughout Montgomery County will have music, floats, and waving flags honoring America’s soldiers this Memorial Day Weekend.
Conshohocken Memorial Day Weekend Flag Planting
Saturday, May 25 at 10 a.m.
Help VFW Post 1074 honor those Veterans who have departed. They will be planting new flags throughout Calvary Cemetary, located at 235 Matsonford Road in Conshohocken. Flags and water will be provided. Volunteers can enjoy a cookout at Post 1074 after the event.
“To Philly, With Love” Fireworks & Fountains Show at Longwood Gardens
Sunday, May 26 at 9:15 p.m.
Enjoy a day in Longwood Gardens and stay for a spectacular fireworks show! The theme is “To Philly, With Love” and will feature songs inspired by and performed by artists with strong ties to Philadelphia.
Lansdale Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27, starting at 9 a.m.
The Memorial Parade will go down Main Street in Lansdale, culminating in a Memorial park ceremony, beginning at 10 a.m. This parade is hosted by The Veterans of Foreign Ways Post No. 32, The Virgillio Schembri Battavio Post No. 23 and the American Legion William Hare Post No. 206.
Collegeville-Trappe Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m.
Parade route begins at Augustus Lutehran Church 717 W. Main Street in Trappe, then proceeds down Main St. to Waterworks Park. The parade ends at the park at with a remembrance observance, followed by a Community Day which will feature food, live music, and free entertainment and games for kids.This parade attracts close to 3,000 area residents.
Gladwyne Memorial Day Parade and Block Party
Monday, May 27 at noon
Parade assembles at 11 a.m. behind Gladwyne Park. Children are invited to decorate bikes, wagon, strollers and walk or ride in the parade. The parade will formally begin at noon, followed by a ceremony honoring veterans and block party with food and entertainment.
Wyndmoor Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m.
The parade will start at Willow Grove Avenue near Elm Street and proceed along Willow Grove and continue on a loop around and end at Veterans Memorial Park, where a memorial remembrance will be conducted. Following the ceremony, join the community in a celebration at the park beginning at approximately 11:30.
Hatfield Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m.
The parade will travel from Broad & Market Streets to the Legion Home on Koffel Road. Service to follow at Legion.
Memorial Day Carillon Concert in Valley Forge National Historic Park
Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m.
This free outdoor concert by Doug Gefvert will feature patriotic selections and works by American composers. Gather at Washington Memorial Chapel. This event is rain or shine.
