It’s officially October, which also means it’s officially Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Check out what’s happening this month to find what you can do to support the cause. There are a variety of ways to participate whether that’s running a 5k to going out for drinks to support the research, treatment, and recovery for those in Montco and beyond!
Dance to Beat Breast Cancer
When: Saturday, October 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: The Maybrook Mansion at the Maybrook Apartments

Dance your heart out for breast cancer this month! Breast Cancer survivor Carol Fee put this event together, as she has always had a passion for dancing. She continues to dance to this day and also teaches Zumba classes! Fee will be at the event, dancing alongside more talented local fitness instructors. Beyond dancing, all participants are given a $15 Athleta gift card and raffles will be up for grabs throughout the event. All funds raised will benefit the breast cancer research program at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania. Donate to participate here!

A Letter To My Sisters: Film Screening

Come view the documentary screening for some insight into the journey of young women fighting their breast cancer diagnosis and beyond. Hear the moving stories and prevention measures to keep in mind as a woman. Food and drinks will also be served. Not able to attend? No problem! Swing for Cancer Golf Outing

Swing and putt at North Hills this month to raise funds for local families affected by cancer. Registration and the driving range open at 10:30 a.m. Appropriate golf attire is required and no metal spikes are allowed. Throughout the event, tasty bites, cocktails, and more will be served for participants to enjoy! Not a golfer? Making Strides 5k

The American Cancer Society is hosting one of its “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walks in the greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey area! Register ahead of time or at check-in to participate in the 5k. The event will start with a Survivor lap around the track, followed by the rest of the walk taken altogether.
