Celebrate the Trappe area’s German heritage at a family-friendly Oktoberfest held on the grounds of The Speaker’s House on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Enjoy live music, delicious food, 18th century trade demonstrations, colonial kids’ games, and locally-made artisanal wares. Learn about the historic house’s ongoing restoration on a behind-the-scenes tour and stroll through an authentic Pennsylvania German kitchen garden to learn about heirloom plants and raised-bed gardening.

Just five doors away, the Henry Muhlenberg House will also be open for guided tours of the new special exhibition Revolution at Home: The Muhlenberg Family of Pennsylvania. Combined admission to both properties is $12/adult ($10/members), $5 ages 10 to 18, $3 ages 6 to 9, free age 5 and under.

Donate two homemade pies or cakes to the bake-off tasting contest and save $5 off your admission! Food and drink will be available for purchase, including sausage sandwiches, apple cider, pretzels, and other seasonal fare.
