More than 200 guests were dressed to impress as they entered the Mercedes-Benz of Fort Washington dealership this past Sunday night for the 2nd annual Fashion for a Cause! This community born event was created by several local Ambler business owners who wanted to start something positive for kids in our area by supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern PA. The idea came from the owners of Gravity Hair Salon, Joe Kaub and Kara Antenucci, and Anthony Vennera, owner of Hot Hot Hot Entertainment. Collectively, they are huge supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters, and it shows! The group organized a planning committee consisting of various local business owners, all of who helped make this years Fashion for a Cause an enormous success. The entire night, this article and everything that you have seen and heard about Fashion for a Cause is all about giving back to the kids, while also helping recognize and thank the local businesses who support them.
Last years Fashion for a Cause event took place outside on Cavalier Drive in Ambler, and it was an awesome experience to be a part of. However, this years fundraiser which was hosted by First Niagara Bank went above and beyond all expectations. The sprawling space and modern interior at Mercedes-Benz Fort Washington served as the perfect venue for this years event. Even more impressive was the attention to detail that was clearly represented by organizers through elaborate lighting, a variety of music, and outstanding food & drink from local restaurants. Of course, the night would not have been possible, or as good looking without the very models who rocked the runway. They commanded the crowds attention in a variety of fall fashions from Ambler Skate Shop, the Free Shop and Tony Laguda Formal Wear. Even the bigs and littles got to strut their stuff! In addition, special guest Kathy Romano from WMMR’s Preston & Steve Show did an outstanding job as emcee for the 2nd year in a row, while newly appointed CEO of BBBS SEPA Marcus Allen, was in attendance to represent this amazing local charity.
