Spring-Ford S.N.A.P. will be hosting it’s 3rd annual Dancing with the Stars event on March 23rd! This fundraiser is designed to bring together our local business partners, community members, parents, teachers and students to keep our kids safe on prom night.

Spring-Ford S.N.A.P. (Students Need an Alternate Party) is hosting it’s largest, annual fundraising event, Dancing with the Stars on March 23rd. The event has already attracted many well-known local businesses, as well as new, up-and-coming businesses. Three Peas in a Pod, Sweet Ashley’s and Annamarie’s have all come back to sponsor dance teams again this year. They’ve also attracted the attention of new team sponsors such as Phamous Phil’s BBQ, Hand and Stone Spa from Royersford, & D&M Fireworks, LLC, just to name a few.
Dancing with the Stars is the largest generator of revenue for the S.N.A.P. organization. With 12 dance teams of over 100 dancers, compromised of teachers and administrators from the Spring-Ford Area School District, along with parents and community members they expect to draw a crowd of nearly 1,600 to attend and support the event by purchasing tickets and voting for their favorite teams. In addition to each of the dancers logging numerous hours of practice, local dance studios such as Jane Baron Academy of Dance, Le Roux School of Dance, Creative Soles Dance Studio and On Edge Movement Dance Studio have been donating their time and talent to choreograph moves worthy of the “Mirror Ball Trophy” which will be awarded to the dance team with the most votes at the end of the 7:30 pm show.

Janice Johnson, one of the chairwomen on the Dancing with the Stars committee, shared this sentiment about SNAP, “SNAP is bigger than giving the kids a great party to help them celebrate their high school achievements – it is about keeping them safe on a night that statistically is one of the most dangerous nights of the year for high school students. Dancing with the Stars is a great example of the Spring-Ford community coming together to make great things happen in one entertaining and fun evening! But it does not happen in one night – the dancers and committee members put MANY hours into this event prior to the show to do their part to help make SNAP a success; as a result, Dancing with the Stars is a great night of entertainment. We hope that the community takes advantage of this opportunity and come out for the shows.”
Dancing with the Stars sold out in record time last year. This year, due its popularity, they’ve added a second show time- 4 o’clock PM and 7:30 PM.
