The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and the Hatboro Police Department are pleased to announce co-sponsorship of Hatboro’s 1st Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Hatboro businesses, civic groups, community organizations, local officials, and area residents are cordially invited to join forces with thousands of communities around the country to participate in the National Association of Town Watch’s 29th National Night Out.

The National Night Out was created to enhance crime and drug prevention while generating support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts to boost neighborhood spirit in partnership with community police departments. The evening is also designed to send the message that neighborhoods are organizing to fight back against crime.

Also called America’s Night Out Against Crime, this free, family-friendly event will he held in the Hatboro Municipal Parking Lot on Moreland Avenue, behind McMackin Tire Service, which is located at 2 South York Road. Face painting, games, and prizes will provide a fun and educational evening. Guests are also welcome to stop by the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce table to enter to win a 4-pack of tickets to Hersheypark.

In addition to the event sponsors, participants will include the Enterprise Fire Company, Thunderbird Lanes, Hatboro Residents Association, McDonald’s restaurant, Montgomery County District Attorney Detective Unit, Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, Eastern Montgomery County SWAT, Hatboro Masonic Lodge, and the Hatboro YMCA. Representatives from State Senator Stewart Greenleaf’s office, and folks from B101 Radio will also be on hand to greet and chat with attendees.

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce, located at 120 S. York Road, Suite 6, hosts special and annual events to support area businesses, both large and small, including the Halloween Stroll, Holiday Parade and Moonlight Memories Car Show. The car show is now in its 20th year, and drew more than 50,000 visitors to Hatboro this July.
