On Thursday, September 7th, the Abington Senior High School Theater Department will be hosting Mr. James Keegan, Shakespearean actor and longtime professor at the University of Delaware. Mr. Keegan has a lengthy, impressive resume of Shakespearean roles, played at the prestigious American Shakespeare Theater. Mr. Keegan will be conducting a workshop for the Abington Senior High School drama students to prepare them for their upcoming production of Much Ado About Nothing (November 16th, 17th, and 18th, at 7:00 p.m.). The Theater Department is thrilled to welcome him!

James Keegan is an author and actor, who, for over a decade, has been a member of the resident acting company at The American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Playhouse. He is an Associate Professor of English and Theater at the University of Delaware, in Georgetown, DE. His poems, essays, and short fiction have appeared in Poet Lore, Southern Poetry Review, The Gettysburg Review, and The Best Small Fictions of 2015.

Mr. Keegan has starred in more than 75 roles in more than 45 productions at the American Shakespeare Center, including the title roles in King Lear, Titus Andronicus, and Prospero in The Tempest. He received his PhD in English Literature at the University of Delaware and has been an Associate Professor of English and Theater there since 1996.
