Lawrence R. Scheetz, Jr., Esquire, is a partner at the Law Offices of Williams & Scheetz. Larry is currently engaged in all aspects of civil litigation. Larry’s main areas of practice include contract law, insurance law, personal injury, estate planning and wills, small business formation and family law.
Prior to joining the Law Offices of Williams & Scheetz, Larry was a litigation associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. Larry’s practice focused on a broad range of contract and insurance issues for national and international clients, with particular attention to issues involving the secondary market for life insurance, family trusts, premium financing, and insurance claim disputes. Larry also represented and advised clients in an array of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, employment-related disputes and regulatory issues. Larry’s commercial litigation practice was conducted in both state and federal court and before regulators and arbitrators.
Larry joined Drinker Biddle following a federal judicial clerkship with the Honorable Lawrence F. Stengel in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. As a federal clerk, Larry managed a full docket of cases through initial pleadings, Rule 16 and pre-trial conferences, jury selection, motion hearings, and both civil and criminal trials. Larry also drafted opinions on legal issues regarding contract disputes, employment discrimination, insurance claims, First Amendment violations and prisoner civil rights.
Larry is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he was a staff member of the Political and Civil Rights Law Review and was awarded the Distinguished Class Performance Award in both Trial Advocacy I and II. He received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in economics from Bucknell University, where he was a Verizon Academic All-American baseball player.
