It’s easy to shop local and eat fresh throughout the spring and summer, but our market trips tend to go into hibernation during the colder months. Luckily there are plenty of local markets in the winter that offer fresh produce, meats, dairy, eggs, herbs, plants, honey, canned and baked goods, teas, and coffees to keep you warm.

This 8-time winner in Montgomery County Happenings started in 2009 with a mission to support local growers, provide healthy foods and fine crafts to the community., while promoting education and sustainability. Upper Merion Farmers Market

Every other Saturday Jan 7- April 29

Conveniently located behind the Upper Merion Township Building, this market is in its 13th year providing locally grown and produced foods and crafts to the community.  They offer farm fresh products from nearly 30 vendors, and several fun events throughout the year.

Perkasie Farmers Market

At The Perkasie Fire Hall

2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month

This popular market runs year round, but heads indoors during the winter months. You can support your favorite local vendors inside the Perkasie Fire Hall through April. It’s a one-stop shop for local, fresh foods, crafts, lotions and oils, micro greens, cheeses, meats honey and coffee.

Part of The Food Trust, whose mission to make healthy local foods accessible and sustainable, this market operates year round, and is a neighborhood favorite.  The vibrant market offers a variety of produce, baked goods, cut flowers, and a chance to connect with neighbors and friends.

Another Food Trust Market, this market also now operates year round.  There are some great retail locations in the area, so you can plan to spend a little extra time checking out the shops.

Rittenhouse Farmers Market

Saturdays, 10am-2pm

This is part of a collection of Farm-To-City markets, whose motto is “Real Farmers, Real Food.”  Find local produce, baked goods, meat and dairy, all grown with a focus on sustainability, stewardship, and community.

Chestnut Hill Farmers Market

1st and 3rd Sundays of the month

You can take a walk in the park and brig your dogs to this market every other Sunday for locally sourced goods and crafts. Check the weather first, because it is an outdoor market.

Stangl Factory Farmers Market
