August 15 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

A Criterium Bike Race is coming to town!  This large cycling event is expecting to attract several hundred racers to the borough of Ambler.

This event is being organized by Derek Dureka, president of GeoVentures Programming and Services Inc. and his cycling team. The course will be a one-mile circuit that racers will bike several times. The day will feature four men’s races and two women’s races, as well as three children’s races, allowing everyone the opportunity to bike through the borough.

The town will be shutting down the the main streets of the town to make way for the rampage of cyclers. These streets include, Butler Avenue, parts of Lindenwold, Park and Highland avenues and Spring Garden Street for the racing event.

This event is being compared to a NASCAR event! Some cyclers will be traveling at speeds up to 30 mph.. faster than the vehicle speed limit through town.

The great thing about this event is that is ALL local!

There will be no outside vendors to be found in town.. but all of the businesses on and around Butler Ave will be open to the spectators!

What is an event this like without the help of great volunteers?! All volunteers will be provided with a free shirt, a bag lunch and drink from The Lucky Well! Sounds like a great day! Volunteers are still needed..
