Restaurant Week returns to Ambler in 2012! Ambler’s Second Annual Restaurant Week begins Monday, January 16th and continues through Sunday, January 22nd. Are you in the mood for a prime cut steak? How about an authentic Indian dish? Maybe a little Southern-style BBQ? Whatever your choice of taste is, it can surely be found at one of the many restaurants participating in this year’s Ambler Restaurant Week. Restaurants around town taking part in the week long event will offer special discounts to patrons. This time around, about 20 restaurants will be participating and offering prix fixe menus.
Let’s take a look at some of the participating restaurants (Please visit the Montco Resource website for a complete listing of all partaking restaurants and their specials offered):
Bridget’s Steakhouse: Located in the heart of Ambler, Bridget’s Steakhouse has played a role in the revitalization of downtown Ambler. Featuring “only choice cuts of meat & exotic flavors of Pacific Region, Bridget’s offers an extensive wine list, full service bar, innovative daily specials, & free valet service nightly.” Bridget’s Restaurant Week special includes 3 courses for $29. Some dishes included in the 2nd course are the Atlantic Salmon, Braised Short Ribs, and Seafood Fra Diovolo.
Trax Café: Described as “A neighborhood gem serving tastefully American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, organic ingredients,” Trax Restaurant and Café is a BYOB situated in the old Ambler Train Station. Choose 3 courses for $35, with the 2nd course including dishes such as Lump Crab Stuffed Portabella Mushroom, Braised Berkshire Pork Shank with Shaved Garlic Confit, Porcini Dusted Salmon, and Pan Seared Free Range Chicken Breast.
Shanachie Irish Pub: Known for the best in Irish entertainment, The Shanachie is located across from the Ambler Theater and features a “delicious fusion of Irish and American Cuisine served in a relaxing and friendly environment.” $25 will get you a hearty 3 course meal during Restaurant Week. Special entree choices include Bacon wrapped Pork Tenderloin, Dublin Seafood Coddle, and Irish Meatloaf with Guinness Gravy.
From The Boot: Referred to as “the best Italian restaurant in the area” by some, From The Boot serves everything from Pizza to cannolis. The restaurant assures “every item on our menu is made with the freshest ingredients from recipes that our guests have savored since we opened our first kitchen.” Their Restaurant Week special is 3 courses for $22 and includes selections such as Rigatoni Vodka, Pasta Fagioli Soup, and Eggplant Parmigiana.
Rosey’s BBQ: Newer to town, Rosey’s BBQ offers specials on their “Memphis Feast” during this year’s Restaurant Week. The full feast costs $55 and serves 4. It includes 1 pound of brisket, 1 whole chicken, 4 pieces of cornbread and 3 sides. Also offered is a “Half Feast” which is $28 and serves 2.
