Appetites needed! The Collegeville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) is inviting all our residents to come savor delectable signature dishes from over 20 of our area’s finest restaurants at the first annual “The Farmer and the Chef”. The chefs of our community’s most sought-after restaurants will be teaming up with the Collegeville Famers’ Market on Thursday, September 12th to provide an evening of amazing cuisine using fresh, locally grown products from the market in their signature dishes. The event, which is scheduled from 6pm to 9:30 p.m., features a leisurely evening of appetizers, main courses and desserts paired with fine wines and artisan beers along with live music at Copperfield Inn at Lakeside in Limerick.
The cost of the event is $45 per person, and includes unlimited fine food, wine and beer. There will also be a silent auction. For a list of the participating restaurants, more information, and to register for “The Farmer and the Chef” visit www.collegevilledevelopment.org or call Rachael Morrison, Collegeville Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Director (CEDC) at 610 454 1050.
“This will be a prestigious culinary event focusing on both high-end and little known restaurants with very talented chefs to introduce our area residents to superb cuisine they may be unaware of,” said Rachael. “We are so fortunate to have discovered a number of brilliant chefs which we will be introducing to area residents at our first ‘Farmer and the Chef’ event!”
“Individuals who attend our ‘Farmer and the Chef’ fundraiser will not only enjoy a memorable evening of great food, wines and artisan beers, but their participation will also be instrumental in offsetting the cost of the market to the CEDC—and for that we are so grateful! The market’s goal is to continue to provide great local products to our community while being self-sustaining.”
