Between the heated political debates and a roller coaster week in the stock market, I’d imagine most MontCo residents are ready for the weekend (I know I am)!  Fortunately, there are plenty of relaxing, affordable events happening around Montgomery County this weekend.  Below are the events we found that fit the bill.  Please leave a comment if you know of any other noteworthy events our readers would be interested in.  Have a great weekend!

Craft Beer Bus Tour (Limerick) – If anyone else out there has a better idea for this weekend than taking a bus tour to some of the best breweries in the area, please let us know!  This Saturday at 11AM the Craft Beer Bus will leave the Craft Ale House located in Limerick and set out for beautiful Lancaster.  Destinations include Lancaster Brewing Company, JoBoy’s award winning BBQ and micro-brewery, and the Union Barrel Works pub and craft brewery.  Snacks and Quizzo are provided on the bus; please visit the Craft Beer Bus website for more information.

St. Stanislaus Parish Festival (Lansdale) – Looking for an event the whole family can enjoy this weekend?  With a beer garden, live bands, home baked goods, and amusement rides, the St. Stanislaus Festival has something for everyone.  Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the carnival runs daily from 6-10PM Tuesday through Saturday this week.

North Wales Second Friday – What a genius idea, creating a “Second Friday” event for your town when every other town competes for visitors on the traditional “First Friday.”  Well played North Wales.  But in all seriousness, this event is worth checking out.  This Friday you will find specials in participating stores around town, entertainment, and a long list of performers (including The Dick Faber Trio, Slim Bob & The New Electrics, and William Morris to name a few).  Please visit the official event website for further details.

Casablanca @ Ambler Theater – Visit the Ambler Theater tonight (August 11th) at 7PM for a screening of the famous “Casablanca.”  This 1942 classic has been referred to as “the Bogart film of all Bogart films” and contains many memorable scenes as well as a fantastic ending.  If you’ve never seen this film before, seeing it on the big screen for the first time is an excellent idea.

4-H Fair (Collegeville) – The Annual Montgomery County 4-H Fair runs this Thursday through Saturday in Collegeville at 1015 Bridge Road.  If you’re looking for a family event that includes a variety of animals, a giant fabric sale, contests, games, music, an open pet show, and an opening baking contest, we recommend stopping by.  I forgot to mention, this fair also boasts the “World’s Largest Sausage Patty!”
