We’re not going to paint a pretty picture for this weekend, it’s going to be a mess!  For those who haven’t heard, Hurricane Irene is making its way toward the tri-state area and poses a major threat.  For this reason, we’ve tried to include more of the indoor events happening around Montgomery County this weekend.  If weather conditions become dangerous, please refer to these Weather Channel Driving Tips regarding flood safety.

Eagle Arms Weapon Show (Oaks) – Head on over to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center this weekend for the Eagle Arms Weapon Show.  From 9AM-5PM Saturday and 9AM-4PM Sunday visitors will have the opportunity to browse 700 tables of weapons – rain or shine!  This is the show of the year for gun enthusiasts and hunters alike.

Young Adults Locals Night (Souderton) – Weather permitting, a “Young Adults Locals Night” will be held Saturday from 5-9PM in Souderton’s Main Street Plaza Parking Lot.  Geared towards the 18-35 year old crowd, the event will feature live music from local bands as well as food from area vendors.  From what we’ve heard, this event has been quite successful in the past and is worth checking out.

Gluten Free Cooking Classes (Willow Grove Mall) – If it’s not underwater from the hurricane, the Williams Sonoma store in the Willow Grove mall will be holding their Gluten-Free Baking Cooking Technique Class from 12-1:30PM on Sunday.  An award winning New York bakery named Babycakes will be on site for the class, which is free to all attendees.  Please call (215) 657-1430 to register.

Chicken BBQ36th Annual Souderton Mennonite Home BBQ– Stop by the Souderton Mennonite Home this Saturday for a classic summer BBQ.  Chicken dinners with all the fixings will be served 11AM-4PM.  Also from 9AM-3PM an outdoor flea market will be held with proceeds benefiting the Mennonite Home residents.  The way the weather is looking now, Saturday morning and early afternoon may be dry enough for outdoor activities.
