Purple is the color of royalty, mystery, wisdom, cruelty and enlightenment. The purple colored ribbon for Lupus awareness is aptly chosen as it is a mysterious disease, one that often takes years to diagnose. It is one that leaves its patients with wisdom about what truly matters in life as they live each day filled with pain and uncertainty. It is a cruel affliction with no cure. Everyday we hope the medical world will become more enlightened as to how to end’s destructive ways. Those who suffer from it deserve our support and little moments to be treated like royalty as they are warriors battling a disease that, in simple terms, attacks them from the inside out.
If you know anyone with Lupus, or it’s related auto immune disorders ( Raynauds, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren’s and more), please come out and support the Philadelphia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation. Sept 26th in Blue Bell. It’s the 3rd annual Lupus Fashion Show and Dessert, featuring Eddie Bauer fashion for ladies and teens. Starts at 7pm and offers raffles throughout the evening. Please purchase tickets at this Eventbrite link.
