Musicivic Baroque in Ambler

When: Friday, January 24 through Sunday, January 26
Where: 5 venues in Ambler

Musicivic Baroque will perform  5 times around the Ambler area this weekend! The dynamic trio includes Natalie Kress, baroque violin; Elena Smith, gamba and baroque cello; and Robert Warner, harpsichord. Joining them is the New-York-based lutenist, baroque guitarist, and theorbo player, Paul Holmes Morton. They will present a variety of 17th and 18th century works demonstrating the vast array of styles and techniques that developed in different countries throughout the baroque era. Each program and venue will be unique so that you can attend and enjoy all 5 of these intimate performances throughout the weekend! Events will include a Friday night salon concert at a private residence, a children’s concert on Saturday afternoon, a formal concert on Saturday evening at Temple University Ambler (Bright Hall), our Sunday matinee series ”Music at the Mansion” at Highlands Mansion and Gardens, and conclude with “Chamber Music on Tap” at Forest & Main Brewery! This Week Sucked: A comedic exploration of your crap week

When: Friday, January 24 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: The Lab, 18 N. Main Street, Ambler

Based on long-running shows in L.A. and Austin, This Week Sucked invites  audience members to share stories of bad bosses, breakups, hookups, adulting challenges and general woes. The cast recreates those stories through a series of comedic improvised scenes. BYOB. Limited seating, purchase tickets here.

Winter Open House at Keystone N Trak

When: Saturday and Sunday, January 25 and 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 113 N. Second Street, North Wales

Bring the kids to see impressive collections of model trains! This event is free.

Chinese New Year Celebration at Elmwood Park Zoo

When: Saturday, January 25 from noon to 1 p.m.
Where: 1661 Harding Boulevard, Norristown

Enjoy an educational program, crafts, and live animal meet and greets featuring “animals of the zodiac”. You’ll also have the opportunity to try on the zoo’s dragon mask. This event is free to attend with zoo admission.

Adopt a Unicorn Workshop at The Doodlery

When: Saturday, January 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: 113 N. Main Street, North Wales

During this magical workshop, your child will create a home for their new pet unicorn and make rainbow slime to feed it. Drop off available, but not required. (Dress for a mess! Aprons are available.) Tickets are $30 per child with a 15% discount for siblings. Register here.

Kids Bingo at State Street Bingo

When: Saturday, January 25 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 799 State Street, Pottstown

Kids can enjoy an afternoon of Bingo while helping to raise money for the Transplant Alliance Foundation. Tickets $20 and include 16 games of Bingo. There will be prizes for kids ranging from 5 to 15 years of age with a minimum retail value of $20. Get more info and purchase tickets here.

Zoo on Wheels – Elmwood Park Zoo at Workhorse Brewing Company

When: Sunday, January 26 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 250 King Manor Drive, King of Prussia

Come celebrate wildlife and conservation with Elmwood Park Zoo at Workhorse Brewing! The zoo will be attending with live animals and an interactive display table for guests to touch and explore. This is a free event and drink specials will be available throughout.
