Montgomery Mall, owned by Simon, a global leader in retail real estate, announced today the addition of eight new retailers as part of the mall’s ongoing redevelopment project, which began in early 2014 and is scheduled to be completed next year.

Most of the new retailers will be located in the north wing section, including fashion powerhouses Banana Republic and Ann Taylor, as well as Clarks, a global footwear brand and Zoë’s Kitchen, a fast casual restaurant offering flavorful, naturally healthy Mediterranean meals. These retailers are all expected to open in time for Holiday 2014.montgomery mall

Also opening in fall 2014 on the lower level of the center will be Icing, a new accessories and jewelry shop for girls and young women, and New York Thread, an upscale full-service threading salon.

Additional store openings will continue into 2015, among them Justice & Brothers, offering the latest trends in clothing and accessories for tween girls and boys ages 7-14, and Grub Burger Bar, a casual burger joint known for its bold flavors, homemade sauces, “scratch baked” buns, and certified Angus chuck and brisket ground in-house daily that are true to its Texas roots. The eatery’s first northeast location will also feature a full-service bar offering craft beers, signature cocktails, wine and other traditional drinks.

The multimillion-dollar redevelopment project will also establish a new children’s play area and improve the mall environment through a new escalator, refreshed retail spaces, and upgraded lighting.

“It’s a very exciting time for Montgomery Mall and we’re thrilled to announce this diverse mix of incoming retailers and restaurants,” said Jack Fazio, Montgomery Mall Manager. “Through the redevelopment project, we are able to expand our mix of shopping and entertainment experiences to better meet the needs of our growing community.”

Other recent changes in the mall’s blend of retailers reflect its increased importance as an anchor of everyday activity. In November 2013, the mall welcomed a 126,000-square-foot Wegmans grocery store, which created nearly 500 jobs for local residents and advanced the shopping center as a one-stop shopping destination for the community.

In addition to the newly opened Wegmans, Montgomery Mall has also welcomed Francesca’s, Spencer’s Gifts, Street Corner News and VisionWorks to the center in the past year.
