Candy Cane CocoaI think I speak for everyone when I say that I have more Christmas cookie recipes than I really need.  However, I recently realized I don’t have a clue how to make a holiday drink aside from the typical alcohol infused eggnog.  What I was looking for was something sweet, warm and festive.  What I found was a recipe for Candy Cane Cocoa.  This drink really compliments the holidays well, and I’d suggest it to all (except those dieting 🙂 ) .

Below is the recipe I found on allrecipes.com, please stop by our Facebook page to let us know what you think!  I’d recommend experimenting with the amount of crushed peppermint candy canes used until you find what fits your taste.  The below recipe serves 4.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 3 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 4 peppermint candy canes, crushed
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 4 small peppermint candy canes

Directions

In a saucepan, heat milk until hot, but not boiling. Whisk in the chocolate and the crushed peppermint candies until melted and smooth. Pour hot cocoa into four mugs, and garnish with whipped cream. Serve each with a candy cane stirring stick.
