                                               WHY IS EAST NORRITON SO AWESOME?!

Located in Montgomery County, East Norriton Township is one of 1,457 Townships of the Second Class in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Despite being just one of thousands, the small area of East Norriton Township proudly stands out among the rest. The level of camaraderie and overall sense of community within its borders help make East Norriton a great place to live, and visit! The area is home to a number of businesses whom have been around for more than a hundred years, while also boasting a variety of new and exciting small businesses that are helping support Montco’s shop small, support local culture.

Historically speaking, the township was incorporated on March 9th, 1909 after a lawsuit by its citizens resulted in the separation of the Township of Norriton into two unique and distinct municipalities known today as, East and West Norriton Townships. The community is governed by a Board of Supervisors comprised of 5 members who are elected for six year terms. They are charged under the Code for Townships of the Second Class with a sworn duty to provide for the health, safety and welfare of its residents. Thanks to their work ethic and dedication to the residents of this close knit community, the local board of supervisors have helped make East Norriton Township one of the most up and coming areas of Montgomery County.

Lying on the outskirts of East Norriton, you will find a wildlife refuge where over 80 species of animals live together in peace, balance and perfect harmony. It’s a place where guests are not only invited to see the animals, but encouraged to interact and learn from them! Obviously, we can only be referring to East Norriton’s famous Elmwood Park Zoo. A facility that has been an integral part of our community and its local residents, both animal and human for almost 100 years now!

It’s all for the kids! The Hogs and Honeys Valentine’s Benefit Party for Mission Kids is one of Montgomery County’s most talked about and celebrated annual fundraisers, and for good reason! Each year, thousands of our local residents head to the Valley Forge Casino and Resort for a night of live music, food vendors, drinks, prizes, photo op’s, and so much more. The yearly event was created to help raise money and awareness for Mission Kids, a local child care advocacy center.
