This weekend brings even more Independence Day celebrating, First Friday events, carnivals and more! Here are our picks for fun things to do in Montgomery County. You can always find even more by visiting our Events Calendar.

Trails on Tap: Valley Forge National Historical Park

When: July 4, 6, and 7 from noon to 9 p.m.; July 10-12 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and July 13 and 14 from noon to 9 p.m.
Where: 1400 N. Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia

Trails on Tap brings a pop-up beer garden to different Montgomery County parks this summer. Stop by to relax in chairs and hammocks while enjoying beer from Mainstay Independent Brewery and delicious food. On Saturday and Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can try out a kayak from Take It Outdoors Adventures or ride a bike supplied by Riverbend Cycles.  A portion of all proceeds from Trails on Tap will benefit the nonprofit Schuykill River Greenways and be reinvested toward protecting the river and expanding the Schuylkill River Trail.

Norco Fire Company Annual Fair

When: Now through Saturday, July 6 (Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.)
Where: Fire Company Fair Grounds, Route 724 (East of the Coventry Mall), Pottstown

Come out to the 54th annual Norco Fire Company Fair! Enjoy rides, great food, and a fun carnival atmosphere. Ride lovers will want to take advantage of the $20 all-you-can-ride offer. On Friday, there will be fireworks at 10:30 p.m.

Kiwanis Carnival and Fireworks

When: Now through Saturday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Wissahickon High School, 521 Houston Rd, Ambler

This annual event features a carnival which runs nightly from July 2 through July 6. A fireworks spectacular takes place, Friday, July 5 at dusk, with a rain date on Saturday.

First Friday Night in Skippack Village

When: Friday, July 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Skippack Village

Enjoy dinner at one of Skippack’s fine restaurants and then take a relaxing stroll down the streets of the historic village to shop many of the unique boutiques that will be open – take your time! Shops and restaurants will be open as musicians, artists and family entertainers will dot the sidewalks, porches, and businesses throughout the village. Each month features a new theme, with July’s theme being Independence Day.

First Friday on the Hill

When: Friday, July 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Germantown Avenue, Chestnut Hill

Shop, dine and unwind with extended store hours in Chestnut Hill. Stop in the Chestnut Hill Welcome Center for free popcorn. Check out the kid activities at Busy Bee Toys, Villavillekula and Zipf’s Candies. Enjoy live music at the Top of the Hill Plaza.

Sunday Evening Summer Concert Series

When: Sunday, July 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 580 Meetinghouse Road, Ambler

Held each Sunday evening on the campus of Temple University. The concert series is sponsored by the Upper Dublin Parks and Recreation. Free to the public. No pets allowed. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to the Learning Center. This week’s performers are Rave On (The Buddy Holly/Roy Orbinson Show).
