Grab a blanket and bring your family and friends to enjoy summer evenings filled with great music on the Sculpture Park’s Susquehanna Bank Stage at Abington Art Center. The 2014′ Summer concert series starts jammin’ out this June and continues through the end of July with new bands performing on stage each week. This is a great opportunity to join our community for evenings filled with great music, dancing, kids activities, fresh popcorn, cool drinks and concessions from various local vendors. The Thursday evening concerts are rain or shine and a $5 donation is requested unless otherwise noted by AAC.

June 12 – The Dixieland All Stars (7-9pm)
Kick back, relax, and enjoy yourself! Let Kevin O’Connell and the Dixieland All Stars transport you down to New Orleans, where everyday is a colorful party on Bourbon Street! This is America’s original art form; the happy free spirited jazz that always puts a smile on your face, and a song in your heart! The Dixieland All Stars provide a fun filled concert for all ages complete with that great New Orleans sound and some great humor in between songs!

Junr 19 – Boogie Dogs (7-9pm)
The Boogie dogs are a 4 piece energetic classic rock band from Montgomery County, Pa. They have performed all over the Bucks, Montgomery and Delaware Counties since 2004 and play the most popular tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
June 26- Cafe Con Pan Band (7-9pm)
The Cafe Con Pan band is truly an all-star band loaded with some of the most talented Latin jazz and salsa musicians from the area. Sit back and enjoy or dance the night away as the band entertains you with their talents on the piano, congas, trumpet, timbales, and bass.

July 10- The Royal Noise (7-9pm)
The Royal Noise forges an ebullient, high energy fusion of sinewy funk, gritty jazz and psychedelic rock, reminiscent of funk fusion acts like Herbie Hancock, Lettuce and Galactic, while drawing influence from dance/jam driven sensibilities in the vein of Umphreys McGee and Phish. The quartet’s dynamic elasticity, musical mastery and their ability to blend the lines between composition and improvisation set them apart from their peers and keep avid listeners returning to shows.

Since forming in the early ‘80’s as an acoustic vocal rock band, AUGUST has become one of the most energetic, enjoyable and long lasting rock and roll dance bands in the Philadelphia area. Spend one evening with AUGUST and just try not to dance along and sing along and smile the night away to your favorite songs of the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s.

July 24- The Karmic Repair Company (7-9pm)
A jam band that shifts between unique originals and covers that the band makes their own, The Karmic Repair Company is a trio comprised of Graham Ford on lead vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, harmonica and cigar box; Eric Worthington on lead vocals, bass, keyboards and melodica; and Todd Zieseniss on drums, percussion and gamelan.

July 31 – KidFest (5:30-9pm)
Featuring Trinidelphia, a local group that has grown to become Philadelphia’s preeminent Caribbean music ensemble. Fronted by multi-instrumentalist Chris Aschman (Steelpan, trumpet), the group’s mission is to combine the steel drum art form of Trinidad and Tobago with American Jazz and Funk, Jamaican Reggae and Ska, and other musical forms. This combination of styles results in some exciting performances that call upon the member’s unique chemistry and musical backgrounds, resulting in a sound that is festive and funky, yet intellectual and personal.
